Pama International return to Cardiff on their 2020 Capital Takeover Tour.
Since their formation in 2001 Pama Int’l have released 12 studio albums, recorded 4 BBC Radio One Maida Vale sessions, been playlisted on BBC 6 music. In 2006 they became the first new band to sign to Trojan Records in 30 years. The collective nature of the band has seen them work with; Billy Bragg, Ken Boothe, Rico, Derrick Morgan, Dawn Penn, Dave & Ansel Collins, Dennis Alcapone, Wrongtom, Michie One, Groove Corporation and Mad Professor, whilst their line up has attracted members from The Specials, Madness, Galliano, Steel Pulse, and The Style Council.
Known primarily for their ska, rocksteady and dub beginnings, 2018 saw Pama International launch their soul direction and revue to 8500 people at London’s famous Alexandra Palace. Since then they’ve released two critically acclaimed albums (both in 2019) in their ‘Altruistic Soul Sound of… Pama International’ series and played a string of sold-out London shows at Heavenly Records’ The Social, O2 Academy Islington and the legendary Hope & Anchor.
